Including one original unclipped dust wrapper.This set is comprised of three volumes of 'The Gentle Art of Theatre Going', by John Drinkwater, No.2 of The Gentle Art Series edited by Wilfred Partington.Including the first edition, published in 1927 by Robert Holden & Co, signed and dated by the author to the front free endpaper.As well as two copies of the a later edition, published in 1929 by Ernest Benn, one of which in the original unclipped dust wrapper.From the library of John Drinkwater, the English poet and dramatist who prior to the First World War was associated with the Dymock poets, with his contributions appearing in all five volumes of 'Georgian Poetry". After the war he achieved great success with his play 'Abraham Lincoln", and became a founding member of the Birmingham Repertory Theatre. In publisher's original cloth bindings. With one original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart. Light bumping to the heads and tails of the spines, with the odd faint mark to boards. Light spotting and offsetting to endpapers. Author's signature to front free endpaper of the 1927 edition. Dust wrapper is smart, with spotting, sunning to spine, and chipping and loss to edges, most significant to the bottom. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Very Good
