Side table - Travertine - Stone, Brass - Postmodern-design travertine table.

It is a mid-century (postmodern) travertine table, made in the 1980s, a piece that embodies that hybrid, daring, and sophisticated spirit that characterized many creations close to the Belgochrom universe: noble materials combined fearlessly, unexpected geometries, and a presence almost sculptural that makes the furniture the protagonist of the space. The travertine, with its porous texture and warm tone, provides the visual weight and the mineral root of the design. It is not a simple top: it is a block of domesticated nature, a surface that breathes light and shadow, introducing an architectural gesture into the living room. Its mass contrasts with the other elements of the ensemble, creating a dialogue very typical of postmodernism, where the tension between materials was part of the language. The base, composed of curved acrylic, gold metal, and a stone element, is an aesthetic manifesto of the decade: transparency, shine, and matter in a deliberately theatrical balance. The acrylic adds lightness and a futuristic touch; the gold metal introduces glamour and a nod to the accessible luxury of the 80s; the stone reinforces the solidity of the whole. That mix — as improbable as it is harmonious — is what brings the piece closer to the Belgochrom style, famous for fusing glass, metal, and marble into geometrical compositions with striking visual impact. The glass top, with its beveled edges, completes the composition with a clarity that reveals the structure as if it were a functional sculpture. The table is not content to serve: it is exhibited, asserted, defining the ambiance. Overall, it is a piece that brings together European postmodernism, contrasting materials, 80s glamour, and a sculptural presence that makes it a design object with character.
