Art Nouveau plant stand with openwork floral carving – circa 1900–1920 Elegant wooden plant stand with richly openwork side panels, adorned with stylized flowers, curved stems, and curling leaves. The floral design fits Art Nouveau/Jugendstil from the early twentieth century. The stand has a square top with beveled edge, four slender legs, and a lower shelf. A decorative piece of furniture for displaying a plant, vase, or sculpture. The wood has a warm brown color with patina and visible signs of use. The wood species is not definitively identified. Condition: scratches, wear, and color variations in the finish. A crack in the lower shelf and a local fracture/open joint at the bottom of the pierced work.
