Large 1970s design tray in thuja burl with inlays of precious woods – 51 cm! Refined 1970s-design tray, crafted with a beautiful combination of thuja burl and different wood species, characterized by a richly decorative and scenographic workmanship. The top features a splendid diagonal lattice geometric composition, obtained by alternating the warm, dynamic figure of the burl with thin strips of lighter-toned wood. At the interlacing points there are also small linear contrast inserts, a detail that provides rhythm and great elegance to the whole composition. Particularly fascinating is the thuja burl, selected in sections with pronounced grain, including natural knots and figure patterns that make each area of the top different from the others. The glossy surface further enhances the depth and nuances of the wood. The structure presents two high, shaped side rims with handles carved directly into the wood, while the longer, lower sides maintain the object's slender and light profile. The bottom also shows an entirely wooden construction and preserves the natural characteristics of the material. Dimensions: about 51 × 31 × 7 cm. A decorative piece of notable presence, representative of the taste for exotic woods, burls, and geometric compositions typical of interior design in the second half of the 20th century. In addition to its original serving tray function, today it lends itself particularly well as a centerpiece, a large trinket tray, or a decorative element on a table, console, sideboard, or bar cabinet. The natural irregularities, knots, and color variations belong to the wood; there are also slight signs and imperfections compatible with age and use, clearly documented in the photographs.
