Scuola di Cuzco (XX) - Madonna con Bambino e Angeli

The oil painting on canvas depicts a devotional image of the Virgin with the Child Jesus, executed in the second half of the 20th century according to the canon and the centuries-old tradition of the School of Cusco (Peru). The Virgin is represented with the typical cone-shaped robe richly adorned with floral motifs and gilded brocades executed with artisanal finesse. At the sides, figures of angels hold theatre drapes in red-purple, while the base of the composition rests on the anthropomorphic crescent moon and a winged cherub. Focus on the Frame: A note of great significance is the contemporaneous wooden frame of excellent visual impact and craftsmanship, which completes the work and enhances its sacredness. The structure features a finish in antique gold leaf with elegant contrasting silver patinas. The upper pediment is enriched by a refined motif of continuous carving that recalls viceregal Baroque decorations. * Era: Second half of the 20th century (Colonial / Viceregal Style) * Provenance: Private collection, Italy * Measurements: 74x55; 67x48 without the frame. * Good overall condition of the painting surface, with a beautiful overall patina. The back of the canvas shows natural aging florals and surface dampness that do not affect the stability of the support. Solid frame with minimal signs of wear. Tracked shipping by courier. Note: The frame is considered a complimentary gift Shipping, therefore, on request is at the buyer's expense. I will be available for a possible quotation.
