Impressive bronze sculpture after the famous work by Edgar Degas: La Petite Danseuse de quatorze ans — the little fourteen-year-old dancer. The ballerina is depicted in her characteristic self-assured pose: standing upright, head slightly tilted back, and hands behind the back. The refined modeling of the face, the graceful body contours, and the richly detailed dress give the statue a lively and elegant appearance. The dress and hair are finished with a beautiful blue-green patina, which nicely contrasts with the warm bronze color of the face, arms, and legs. The statue stands on a heavy, rectangular black-veined marble plinth. The sculpture is signed in the bronze base with “Degas” and provided with: - a plaque with “Le Bronze Garanti Paris”; - reference/foundry number A7720; - a high-quality, multi-tone patina; - a black-veined marble plinth. This is a decorative bronze edition after Edgar Degas and not an original work created during the artist’s lifetime. A particularly atmospheric art object for a classical or modern interior, gallery, office, dance studio, or collection. Thanks to the expressive posture and beautiful patina, this sculpture forms an elegant eye-catcher. CONDITION In very good condition, with minor surface and patina variations that are in keeping with the material and the method of manufacture.
