This special lot consists of two parts: 1) A scaled-down, extremely precise reproduction of the famous Antommarchi death mask of Napoleon Bonaparte. The original mask, made shortly after his death in 1821, is considered the most iconic face of the emperor as history has preserved him. This reduced version was realized through a specialized artistic process in which the original model was digitally scanned, proportionally reduced, and rebuilt in artist's plaster. Through this method, every contour, every nuance, and every characteristic feature of the historical original is preserved. The surface was then carefully finished in a noble bronze finish, giving the object the appearance of an authentic bronze relic. This first object, in good condition and finished with a patinated bronze finish atop a plaster core, has a depth of 5.5 cm, a height of 9 cm, and a width of 5 cm. Weight 227 g. Mounted on the wall with a hook at the back. Also suitable to be presented horizontally in a display cabinet or as part of a cabinet of curiosities. 2) The second object consists of a larger replica relief bust of Napoleon, which in this lot is aptly called a "life mask" because it shows the emperor as he was alive. This object has also been carefully finished in a noble bronze finish with patina, giving it the appearance of an authentic bronze relic, while it has a plaster core. Dimensions: 16 x 10.5 x 2.5 cm, with a weight of 270 g. This profile bust is also by means of a hook at the back to hang on the wall. It is also suitable for horizontal presentation in a display cabinet or as part of a cabinet of curiosities. Both objects are very well packaged and shipped with a Track & Trace shipment, each separately provided with protective foil and air cushions.
