Schout en schepenen Weesp - Manuscript met 2 waszegels

1761 manuscript from the city of Weesp, bearing a Clein seal (dry seal or embossed seal) of 24S and two wax seals, as well as a note from the seller. The 1761 manuscript measures about 32 x 32 cm and is in neat and collectible condition, with the usual signs of aging (the photos are part of the description). This concerns a ‘transport letter’, drawn up in Weesp, 20 October 1761, on behalf of sheriff Cornelis van Marken and burgomasters Jacobus Emaus and Willem van Dijk, provided with a signature from secretary Jacob van Marken. The selling party is described as follows: ‘that for us appeared, Ryelt, Carels, living at Zutphen, in the capacity as passed by Procuration, on 10 October 1741 before Richter and schepenen of the City of Zutphen, at that time specially empowered by Harmannus Muller Bernas to us in court, as by a Noble and One: Guardian of the Orphaned children of the late Maria Eyman Stofdijk, Widow of Jan Verdijs’, the purchasing party is Klaas Van Paddenburg, Master Shoemaker, here in this town. The sale concerns ‘one house and estate standing and located within this city, on the West side of the Grobbe with its water course’, all for ‘a sum of two hundred twenty-five Carolij guilders’. A folded note, made by the seller, describes the transaction and conditions for sale to Paddenburg. Probably a note on which the official document was based. The manuscript is to be sent by registered mail and insured.
