Sauropod - Fossil fragment - 22 cm - 20 cm (No reserve price)

Important Fragment of a Giant Sauropod Limb Bone – Preserved Trabecular Structure – 5.1 kg Ref: S-061 We present a museum piece of great breadth and invaluable anatomical and historical value. It is an impressive fossilized fragment belonging to the limb of a giant Sauropod dinosaur, possibly corresponding to the proximal region of the humerus. Its wide, massive, and robust structure perfectly reflects the biomechanics of these Mesozoic titans, designed to support tons of weight and high mechanical loads. One of the main attractions of this piece is the clarity of its interior structure: one face of the piece has been polished to better and more clearly appreciate the dense mineralized spongy bone tissue, formed by an extremely intricate three-dimensionally preserved trabecular network, very characteristic of the metaphyseal and epiphyseal regions of long bones in large vertebrates. The lot includes a custom-made heavy iron stand (2.1 kg) designed to guarantee a fully safe, elegant, and gallery-present exposure with vertical orientation. Details of the specimen: Type: Limb bone fragment (possible proximal humerus). Taxonomy: Dinosauria - Sauropoda. Age: Late Cretaceous (approx. 95 million years). Origin: North Africa. Conservation and Treatment: Excellent preservation of the internal trabecular bone microstructure. Treated and protected with Paraloid B-72 (museum-grade conservation resin, neutral and reversible) to consolidate the structure without altering the texture or natural color of the fossil. Accessories: Includes a custom-made iron base/stand (2.1 kg) + Original JewelryFosiles Guarantee Certificate / Certificate of Authenticity. Dimensions and Weight: Fossil dimensions: 22 x 20 cm. Fossil weight: 5,173 grams (5.17 kg). Iron stand weight: 2,100 grams (2.1 kg). Total assembled weight: ~7.17 kg.
