Salvatore Rodriquez (1957) - L'Attesa

A bright, vacation-ready interior opens onto a breathtaking view: through the wide, French doors opening onto a wrought-iron balcony, the gaze ranges over a turquoise sea that blends with a warm, golden sky. A young woman in a blush pink dress, seen from the back, gazes at the horizon in a moment of quiet contemplation, while the warm afternoon light wraps the entire scene. In the foreground, a round table laid with a pastel-toned cloth hosts a vase of bright red flowers, a bowl of fresh fruit, and an open notebook, details that tell of a moment of Mediterranean everyday life. The wicker chairs, woven with quick, confident brushstrokes, complete the warm, informal atmosphere of the terrace. The painting technique, with an impressionist sensibility, plays on the contrast between the dazzling brightness of the sea background and the rich chromatics of the foreground elements, effectively conveying the feeling of warmth and light of a summer day on the coast.
