Salvatore Alibrio - Fuori dal coro

Bas-relief composed of small and precious faces. It is a one-of-a-kind work of its kind because each tile has been painted and manually inserted onto a wooden support. The materials used are plaster (resin) and acrylic colors, all of excellent quality, ideal for furnishing contemporary spaces. The artwork consists of a grid arrangement of small colored tesserae, each characterized by a thin and abstract facial imprint. The repetition of the motif within the grid suggests themes of identity, diversity, and unity. The textured surface adds depth and invites tactile exploration, while the overall structure evokes a sense of order and rhythm. This artwork could explore the intersection between individuality and collectivity through the lens of the abstract portrait. The use of color is particularly striking, emphasizing both contrast and cohesion. The piece could be seen as a commentary on how faces, though unique, form part of a larger mosaic of human experience. It invites viewers to reflect on the diversity of expression and emotion within an apparently uniform scheme.
