Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born 1966) is a Marche-based artist whose life is rooted in artisanal craft. For forty years he worked in the shadows of his workshop in a small town among the hills of Marche, specializing at the highest levels in resin processing, painting, and chrome plating. The turning point in his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspension of time become an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always kept inside. What for decades had been “only” a technique of excellence thus becomes the means to give life to modern, vibrant, pop sculptures with a playful edge. Today Sagrasse has transformed his know-how as a craftsman into a recognized language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one's most authentic talent.
