Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is a Marche-based artist whose life is rooted in artisanal mastery. For forty years he has worked in the shadow of his workshop in a small town among the hills of Marche, specializing at the highest levels in resin processing, varnishing, and chrome plating. The turning point in his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspension of time become an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he has always kept inside. What for decades had been “only” an exemplary technique thus becomes the means to give life to modern, vibrant, and ironic pop sculptures.
