Above, white light, the geometry of the tiles, and a gaze perfectly controlled. Under the water, the blue becomes deep, shapes transform, and glints of light glide across the skin. The intense red of the swimsuit and the floral cap breaks this aquatic palette and immediately creates the anchor point of the composition. But the strength of the image lies in this horizontal boundary: only a few millimeters separate air from water, control from letting go, what is shown from what is kept submerged. The model does not flee from the gaze. She faces it in absolute silence. I wanted the surface to become a boundary in its own right within the image. The face still belongs to the outside world while the body already seems to tilt elsewhere. The reflections, the pool blue, and that very present red then build two universes that coexist in a single photograph.
