Ruby and gemstone ring

Descriptio A silver ring featuring a large, pear-shaped cabochon ruby at its center, surrounded by a halo of round-cut colorless stones and shoulders adorned with pavé-set gemstones. Size: 17/57. Weight: 15.7 g. This elegant ring boasts a substantial design and striking ornamental presence, centered around a central stone of intense reddish-pink hue. Its polished surface and pointed profile are notable for their luminosity and chromatic depth. The cabochon is framed by a row of transparent stones that enhance its hue through an attractive contrast of brilliance, while the shoulders are decorated with a continuous array of small stones set in a darkened setting. The combination of polished surfaces, metallic reflections, and the sparkle of the gemstones lends the piece a sophisticated character, reminiscent of oriental-inspired jewelry designs and high jewelry creations with a historical flair. The setting features a wide, slightly raised structure with an openwork lower gallery that allows the reverse of the cabochon to be seen and facilitates the entry of light. According to the provided cataloging information, the ring is made of silver and combines a central ruby with round-cut green sapphires; gemological identifications that should be confirmed by expert examination. The setting shows slight signs of wear and use, consistent with its age. Provenance: Bruun Rasmussen, 2013 auction, reference 1335/1176.
