Rubboli Gualdo Tadino – Large polychrome majolica jug – Italy, first half of the 20th century – 37 cm Description Important polychrome majolica jug/pouring vessel from the Rubboli workshop of Gualdo Tadino, one of the historic Umbrian manufactories tied to the tradition of Italian artistic ceramics. The piece features a particularly scenographic form, with a cylindrical body on a foot, a long neck, a broad shaped spout and a high raised handle. The decoration, entirely handmade, is characterized by an intense blue background with vegetal motifs, scrolls and Renaissance-inspired decorations, in shades of yellow/ochre, blue, red-orange and white.
