18 karat yellow gold tank ring set with 20 Old European cut diamonds of approx. 0.60 ct, surrounded by 24 single-cut diamonds of total approx. 0.12 ct. The diamonds are set in white gold pavé settings. The tank ring originated in the 1940s-1950s. Because gold became scarce during World War II, valuable jewelry was melted down into more compact, easier-to-transport objects - the tank ring was born. The war jewel is named after the tanks from this war period, and mimics the massive, heavy lines and coarse structures of the tanks and their tracks.
