Revue Thommen Airspeed Pilot Chronograph Automatic – Ref. 17081.6538 The Airspeed Pilot is a model that reflects one of the most distinctive chapters in Revue Thommen’s history. The Swiss company, founded in 1853, developed a strong connection with aviation and precision instruments, and that heritage became an important inspiration for the Airspeed collection. The design of this model has the appearance of a traditional cockpit instrument, translated into a mechanical Swiss wristwatch. The Ref. 17081.6538 has a 41 mm brushed stainless steel case and a cream-coloured chronograph dial with black Arabic numerals. The contrast gives the watch a classic pilot-watch appearance, while the tachymeter scale around the outer edge adds a technical touch. The dial also features luminous hands and markers together with a day and date display at 3 o’clock. Inside is the Swiss automatic Valjoux 7750 chronograph movement with 25 jewels, operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offering approximately 44 hours of power reserve. The three chronograph registers display running seconds, a 30-minute counter and a 12-hour counter. The movement can be admired through the transparent screw-down case back. The 14 mm thick stainless steel case is protected by scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The watch is finished with a black leather strap and tang buckle, giving the model a more traditional and elegant character than the larger Airspeed models with rubber straps. Water resistance is rated at 50 metres.
