Relief, Ultima cena di Gesù - 41 cm - Wood, silver sheet - 1950

The artwork depicts the Last Supper of Jesus ("Ultima Cena de Jesus"), one of the most famous biblical scenes, in which Jesus shares the Passover meal with his apostles before the crucifixion. Composition and Details: The scene unfolds around a long laid table, with Jesus at the center, recognizable by his posture and hieratic stance, surrounded by the twelve apostles in expressive and dynamic poses. Some apostles gesture, others pray or turn to neighbors, while in the foreground there are realistic details such as jugs and tableware. Style and Craftsmanship: It is a metal bas-relief (in silvery tones) characterized by meticulous attention to anatomical details, the folds of the drapery of the garments, and the classical background architecture, enriched by columns and festoons. Frame: The work is enclosed in a rich and elegant gilded wooden frame, decorated with baroque volute motifs and elaborate engravings that enhance its precious and classical appearance.
