REGINA STYLE 35 AUTOIMATIC DISC CHANGING MUSIC BOX WITH 6 DISCS C. 1900 Regina Corona upright coin-operated music box. A magnificent floor standing mechanical disc music box by Regina Music Co., housed in an elaborate mahogany cabinet with carved crest, barley twisted columns, ornate metal grillwork, and curved glass front door. The exposed mechanism is fitted with a large perforated metal Regina music disc and substantial comb assembly, allowing the operating mechanism to be viewed while playing. Comes with six discs. The cabinet is particularly impressive, being mahogany incorporated with a deeply-carved floral scroll crest. The side-mounted coin-operated controls indicate possible commercial use and makes this machine an exceptionally rare piece, probably intended for placement in saloon, hotel, restaurant, or other public establishment, where customers had to pay to hear music - an early example of a jukebox. CONDITION: In working order. Retains handsome old surface with attractive color and presentation. Overall condition is excellent, with minimal wear, consistent with age and application.
