Rare Natural Orthoceras Sphere – Fossile Elegance in Black and White- 2668.86 g

This exceptional sphere of orthoceratite rock showcases a fascinating interplay of a black matrix and contrasting white-to-gray fossils of ancient cephalopods. The numerous spiral and elongated structures resemble time capsules frozen in stone, giving the sphere a nearly graphic, artistic effect. With every turn, new details emerge: fine chambering, organic lines, and the characteristic texture of these ancient marine inhabitants. The polished surface enhances the deep luster and makes the fossils stand out clearly. The sphere exudes a distinctive, earthy presence that delights both fossil collectors and lovers of decorative natural materials. Its unique patterning makes it a natural focal point in any setting — authentic, vibrant, and full of history. Metaphysically, Orthoceras is often associated with grounding, stability, and awareness of one's life path. The ancient structures symbolize change, development, and the strength drawn from the past. Note: The stand shown is not included in the delivery. Stone: Natural sphere made of fossil ammonites and orthocerates Weight: 2668,86 Size: 135mm Treatment: None Origin: USA It is fossil wood dating back 200 million years, all parts from a log or branches have been silicified, meaning that organic components were little by little replaced by silicon in the form of jasper, chalcedony and more rarely opal. Without the organic parts, all the living matter was replaced by stone : there are growth rings, cell separations, almost like worm cracks. Its features are those of the mineral that would have pseudo-transformed the wood : the silicon. And that’s what we call a "petrified wood" in the common language. The disclaimer about the healing properties as previously given : It is believed that certain gemstones and minerals have beneficial health and spiritual properties.
