Rare Favag of Neuchatel, Switzerland, Synchronous Chronoscope, model type 17.5220.001, circa 1950s, the dial with a zero reset device, with two concentric circular scales, the outer with 100 divisions, the inner with sixty divisions, the large hand makes one revolution per second, while the small hand sums up the revolutions of the large hand, housed in a solid light metal case, 7.4" high, 4.5" wide, depth 5" ** A precision instrument for measuring very short times, which are limited by two switching operations. This measurement is based on counting the periods of alternating current that occur during the measurement ** The precision of the instrument is in the order of ±6/1000 seconds. The dial of the counter is designed for measurements up to one minute and this measurement accuracy depends on the stability of the frequency applied to the synchronous motor ** From the David Read Collection
