Purple opal from Madagascar in an extraordinary duo – a...

An eye-catching set from the very start thanks to an unusual combination: this 2-piece purple opal set from Madagascar consists of a magnificently polished sphere and a decorative, solid natural-stone mushroom. Two completely different forms meet here in the same fascinating mineral world. The large sphere showcases especially intensively why this opal is so exceptional. Rich violet and lilac tones run through a milky white to cream-colored base matrix, accompanied by fine dark inclusions and, in places, nearly dendritic-looking drawings. The color distribution is completely irregular and gives the sphere a lively, almost cloud-like appearance. The purple opal mushroom provides an attractive contrast. Its predominantly light surface is traversed by delicate bluish-gray, violet, and darker mineral lines. In the lower area, individual stronger purple patches also emerge. The broad mushroom cap and the massive, smoothly curved foot create a particularly decorative silhouette. What is especially exciting is the interplay of both pieces: while the sphere presents its pattern all around and has distinctly stronger color accents, the mushroom appears lighter and calmer. Together they form a harmonious but by no means ordinary collector’s duo. The glossy polish beautifully brings out the different color layers and natural structures. Mineral inclusions, fine lines, natural depressions, as well as differences in color and texture are part of the material’s individual character and make both pieces unmistakable. A special purple opal set from Madagascar for lovers of unusual minerals – with an imposing sphere and an artistically worked gemstone mushroom, united by a beautiful violet-white natural pattern.
