4 old, finely carved and painted Wayang puppets. The puppets are made of buffalo leather and the sticks of buffalo horn. These puppets were used in a shadow play that uses shadow and light effects. The puppets are 35 cm long, and including the sticks 53 cm. Also a beautiful and carefully preserved costume with Wayang Kulit figures. It was brought from the Dutch East Indies (Java) in the previous century. Wayang Kulit is a traditional Indonesian shadow-puppet theater in which flat puppets are used. This costume was used as a theater prop and is in good condition considering its age of more than a century. Carefully packaged and insured for shipping.
