Pufferfish on Brass Stand Taxidermy full body mount - Tetraodontidae sp

Pufferfish (Family Tetraodontidae) on Brass Stand – Philippines A striking prepared pufferfish specimen from the Philippines, mounted on an elegant brass display stand that gives the piece a distinctive vintage natural history appearance. The specimen retains the characteristic inflated, rounded form for which pufferfish are famous, together with its naturally textured skin covered by numerous fine spines. The body displays subtle grey, beige and brown tones, with darker mottling concentrated toward the upper and posterior areas. Particularly interesting details include the broad patterned tail fin, the remaining fins and the prominent beak-like dental plates, clearly visible at the front of the head. These anatomical features give the specimen considerable natural history interest while also contributing to its unusual sculptural character. The pufferfish is securely mounted above a turned brass pedestal with a broad circular base. The warm patina of the metal contrasts attractively with the muted natural coloration of the fish and transforms the specimen into a ready-to-display decorative object. An unusual marine specimen ideal for a cabinet of curiosities, natural history collection or eclectic interior display.
