Precious Lapislazuli Bowl - Refined Afghanistan Lapis...

Refined Afghanistan Lapis Lazuli Mosaic — This exceptional specimen of the Campo del Cielo meteorite, originating from Argentina, is a tangible testament to the power and beauty of cosmic phenomena. The piece features its characteristic dark fusion crust, resulting from the intense heating during its passage through the Earth's atmosphere. The surface is adorned with regmaglypts, cavities and impressions formed by ablation of the material during the fall, giving the specimen a sculptural and deeply fascinating appearance. The Campo del Cielo meteorite is classified as an iron octahedrite, a type of meteorite that forms in the core of an asteroid. Its predominantly metallic composition, with an iron-nickel matrix, makes it especially dense and heavy for its size. Its irregular surface and dark coloration with metallic sheen make it a highly visually and scientifically intriguing object. The Campo del Cielo fall occurred about 4,000–5,000 years ago, when a rain of meteorites crashed in what is today Chaco Province, Argentina, creating a series of impact craters. This specimen, like all Campo del Cielo fragments, carries the story of an interstellar journey spanning billions of years, culminating in a dramatic impact with our planet. Collecting a meteorite means owning a piece of the solar system's history. This specimen represents not only a rare geological object, but also a symbol of the vastness of the universe and our connection to it. It is an ideal piece to enrich a collection of rare minerals, fossils or natural curiosities, or to serve as an extraordinary decorative element in any setting, evoking wonder and curiosity. Its condition is excellent, preserving all the details of its formation and its dramatic journey.
