Poterie Rambervilliers - Sculpture, Grand hiboux - 48 cm - Stoneware - 1920

Grand Owl in flame-fired stoneware for lamp mounting, eyes in sulfide, signed with the stamps Unis France and Cythère Rambervillers. Ref catalogue 296_2013_3108 Height 48cm Art Nouveau in Rambervillers Linked by friendship with Joseph Mougin and Majorelle, A. Cytère is introduced to the great names who led the movement of the Nancy School. He solicits artists such as Horel, Gatelet, sculptor and modeller, Catteau, the marble mason installed near the Stanislas Gate, Cayette, reputed for good work with brass. Other artists will be commonly consulted, and by no means the least, for example Jacques Grüber whose flame-fired stoneware pieces have toured Japan. From the models provided by his friends from Nancy, Alphonse Cytère highlights stoneware through the richness of his glazes, through tonalities ranging from green to violet, through the flame that illuminates the subject. Excellent conditio
