Poker set - Wood

Original and distinctive vintage poker set, dating presumably to the 1930s–1950s, housed inside an elegant turned-wood container shaped like a bottle. Opening the container reveals an internal structure composed of five circular, stacked shelves, each equipped with compartments for multicoloured chips and two rectangular recesses for playing cards. The shelves are crossed by a central metal spindle and can be removed individually. An unusual and decorative object, testament to early- to mid-20th-century gaming and lounge accessories. Features: Era: pre-1960, presumably the 1930s–1950s Origin: USA Material: turned and worked wood, metal spindle and era-appropriate synthetic chips Height: 28 cm Maximum width: 26 cm Internal structure: five chip-holding shelves Closure: bottle-shaped container with a top knob Conditions: Generally good condition for its age, with signs of use, scratches and natural wear to the finish, visible in the photographs.
