Shutter Release (Single Shot): Works like a classic wireless remote to trigger the shutter (includes options for single shot, focus, continuous press, Bulb mode, and burst). 2. Timelapse: Allows programming sequences of shots by setting interval, total duration, and initial delay. 3. Bulb Ramping: Designed for day-to-night (or vice versa) timelapses, gradually varying exposure times to compensate for changing light. 4. HDR (High Dynamic Range): Captures a series of shots (up to 19 images) at different exposures to merge shadows and highlights. 5. Startrail: Takes multiple long-exposure images in a continuous sequence to create the star trail while avoiding sensor thermal noise. 6. Video: Start and stop video recording on the camera, ideal for overcoming some cameras’ continuous shooting time limits. 7. Timer: A simple countdown timer to schedule a shot at a precise moment. 2. Device Sensors (Pluto Sensors) These modes leverage the hardware and internal sensors physically present on the Pluto Trigger. 8. Laser: Activates the camera when an object or animal interrupts the laser beam (pointer included in the package). 9. Sound: Triggers instantly when it detects a loud noise (e.g., a balloon popping or a glass breaking). 10. Light: Triggers shots based on sudden variations in ambient light. 11. Lightning: An ultra-fast mode specifically tuned to detect lightning flashes during storms. 12. PIR (Passive Infrared): Detects body heat and movement of people or animals, turning the camera into a trail camera. 13. Droplet: Interfaces the trigger with the Pluto Valve accessory to synchronize and photograph millimeter-accurate collisions of water droplets. 14. Aux (Auxiliary): Allows connecting third-party custom sensors via the jack to extend shooting capabilities. 15. Fusion: Enables combining multiple hardware sensors simultaneously (e.g., triggers only if there is both a sound and a light change). 3. Smartphone Sensors (Smart Phone Sensors) These modes leverage the hardware of the phone on which the app is installed. 16. Vibrate: Takes a photo when the smartphone detects vibration or a strong jolt. 17. Motion: Uses the phone’s camera to detect movement in the frame and trigger the main DSLR. 18. Distance: Uses the phone’s GPS to take a photo each time you move a predetermined distance (e.g., every 10 meters), useful for hyperlapses. 19.
