Set of 5 Chinese Famille Rose export porcelain presentation dishes – Qianlong period (c. 1750–1770) Lot features: Object: Set of 5 dishes / presentation dishes (saucer dishes) Material: Porcelain (Famille Rose / fencai) Period: Qing Dynasty, Qianlong (1736–1795), ca. 1750–1770 Origin: Jingdezhen, China (Export porcelain / Chine de Commande) Diameter: ca. 15.0 cm each Condition: Very good antique condition (see condition report) Description: A rare ensemble of five identical 18th-century Chinese export porcelain dishes, decorated in refined Famille Rose (fencai) enamel. In the mirror there is a cobalt-blue vase on a carved-wood pedestal, filled with blooming peonies (symbol of wealth and prosperity), flowering branches, and a peacock feather (symbol of high social rank and dignity). The inner rim features four exuberant Rococo-style cartouches: two side panels with floral sprigs on a pink diaper background, and two panels with flower baskets against a gilded/black braided ground. The exterior is bordered with a delicate turquoise-green diaper band with floral cartouches. With a diameter of 15 cm, these are not standard tea saucers, but presentation dishes (saucer dishes / sweetmeat dishes) for sweets or as coasters. Condition report: Carefully inspected: 1 dish: Completely intact (no edge chips, no fleabites, no hairlines). 4 dishes: Featuring extremely tiny, barely perceptible fleabites / light fritting along the outer rim (visually hardly visible to the naked eye). General: No hairlines, no cracks and no restorations.
