Set of 3 Asian Porcelain Cups/Saucers – China & Japan – 18th century Beautiful collection comprising three porcelain cups/saucers from the Far East dating to the eighteenth century, illustrating the variety of export patterns of the period. Chinese Imari Bowl / Imari Chinese (Ø 14.2 cm) – Kangxi / Yongzheng era (ca. 1720–1730): Hand-painted decoration in underglaze blue and iron red enhanced with gold, depicting flower rafts and aquatic foliage in a rotating movement, centered by a floral rosette. Japanese Kraak Saucer / Blue & White (Ø 13.7 cm) – Edo period (ca. 1700–1740): Molded porcelain with a polylobed, relief-moulded edge (Kraak style). Under-glaze blue decoration showing a scholar’s rock with lotus flowers at the center, surrounded by floral registers. Mark with the Artemisia leaf (auspicious mark) under the base. Chinese Imari Chinese Bowl (Ø 12.3 cm) – Qianlong era (ca. 1740–1760): Under-glaze blue and iron-red decoration depicting a traditional pavilion/pagoda near a rock and a weeping willow, at the edge of a river. Technical specifications Origin: China (2) & Japan (1) Period: 18th century (ca. 1720–1760) Diameters: 14.2 cm / 13.7 cm / 12.3 cm Technique: Hard-paste porcelain, underglaze blue decoration, overglaze enamels and gilt highlights Condition Imari Flower-Rafts (14.2 cm): Overall good condition, with a discreet kiln crack / structural crack visible at the rim. Kraak Japanese Saucer (13.7 cm): Good condition, small edge chip / old glaze defect on the outer rim. Pagoda Bowl (12.3 cm): Good overall condition, a hairline crack visible at the rim.
