Pierre Alechinsky (1927) - Composition CoBrA - Central Park III

Stunning color lithography and aquatint on vellum paper from 1976, signed in pencil in the center-right and numbered 100 copies Published by Yves Rivière Dimensions: Large format - 65.7 x 49.2 cm A splendid work, offering a very high-quality graphic rendering, extremely decorative and hand-signed by the master of the CoBrA movement Note: plate from the series "Central Park" created after the artist's famous painting that depicts Central Park as a monster devouring everyone who enters its domain. This is the first work the artist painted in this manner: a colorful image in the center and small images all around. Pierre Alechinsky says he created it by observing the paths, rocks, and lawns of Central Park from the top of his New York studio on the 35th floor. Seen from above, he felt the park looked like the mouth of a monster. He then decided to add drawings all around to tell of the troubling things that happen at night near this park. The artist thus inaugurated the painting “with marginal remarks". Careful packaging and international shipping with tracking number and insurance.
