Picture frame - Cast brass - Beautiful patina 80 x 60 cm

Opulent decorative frame in Neobaroque style – rich floral relief decoration, characterful gold patina – 80×60.5 cm A representative, richly ornamented picture frame in the language of Neobaroque with clear Rococo echoes. Its generous proportions, the plastically worked embellishments, and the expressive gold patina give this piece a particularly elegant and historic aura. The imposing, 10.5 centimeter-wide frame molding is adorned with a multilayer relief decor of flowing acanthus leaves, scrolls, blossoms, and rocaille-like ornaments. Particularly noteworthy are the generously designed corner sections with their expansive leaf motifs, which largely define the frame’s appearance. Finely profiled inner moldings create a harmonious transition to the image opening and emphasize the balanced composition. The gold-colored surface has a beautiful, distinctive patina with warm gold and bronze tones. The different color nuances and the sculptural depth of the ornamentation produce an appealing interplay of light and shadow. The back wooden construction completes the solid execution of this decorative frame. Condition The frame is in a nice used condition with a distinctive patina and minor age-related signs of wear. There is a small loss in the decorative ornament at the upper left corner, which is documented in the photographs. The overall decorative effect remains largely unaffected.
