PHOENICIAN BLACK STONE SCARABOID WITH WINGED BULL IN GOLD SWIVEL RING

Ca. 500 BC. A black stone scaraboid with a flat back engraved with stylised linear motifs and a flat underside depicting a winged bull in profile, with curved horns and outstretched wings. The scaraboid is mounted on a transverse swivel pin between the rounded terminals of a possibly later gold ring with a broad, slightly tapering hoop. The terminals are decorated with ribbed collars and flanking granules.
