Obverse: Bust facing, legend around ".CORAZON AQUINO. NUOVO PRESIDENTE FILIPPINO. 26 FEBBRAIO 1986"; Reverse: Coat of arms of the Philippines, legend above "LO STEMMA DELLO STATO FILIPPINO". Beautifully preserved and very attractive, this nearly perfect example displays a soft gray coloration with dove gray patina amongst the devices. A pleasing piece with intact satiny surfaces that is sure to be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters. Succeeding the dictatorship of Ferdinand Marcos, Corazon Aquino took office as the 11th president and the first female president in the country's history. She led the transition from a dictatorship to the establishment of the current democratic Fifth Philippine Republic and restored the constitution in 1987.
