PHILIPPINES. Lot of (2). Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. 50 Piso, ND

An Unadopted Design for 50 Pisos PHILIPPINES. Lot of (2). Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. 50 Piso, ND (ca. 1960s-70s). P-Unlisted. Front & Back Printer's Models. PMG Uncirculated 62 to Choice Uncirculated 63. Of all the proofs that can be found in the current section, this is probably the most special, as it is almost entirely different in design from the issued notes (Pick-146). The design that was eventually approved for circulation features the portrait of Sergio Osmeña, while on this piece we see a finely engraved portrait of Manuel L. Quezon. The first example of this design we have ever encountered, for all intents and purposes unique, or at the very least extremely rare. While some condition issues are mentioned by the grading service, the rarity of this pair of printer's models more than makes up for it. PMG Comments "Paper Pulls" on the front printer's model and "Minor Paper Pulls" on the back printer's model.
