Philippe Masson - 3 Original pages - Celtil - pag 34 , 35 & 37 - 51x37 cm

These three original comic pages (Chinese ink on drawing paper, size 46×34 inches) come from the French cartoonist/scriptwriter Philippe Masson "Celtil". Background & Context of the work The series: The pages belong to the historical comic story "Celtil." The story is set in classical antiquity (the Greek-Roman and Gallic period) around characters such as Celtil, Chrysis and Glaucos (as can be read in the speech balloons). Publication: The first album of Celtil was published in March 1986 by the well-known Belgian publisher Bedéscope. The series was halted by Bedéscope after one album. Pages from subsequent albums (or unpublished stories that Masson had drafted in advance) never appeared in album form. This explains why these original plates have become unique and rare collector’s items. Because it is a never-published series/sequel, there is a unique “rarity element.” Determinants of the price Unpublished work ("Tome 2"): Pros: The plates are unique and rare because no albums were printed for this sequel story. Quality of the plates: The pages show a high level of detail, classic French ligne claire / detailed inking (encre de Chine) and clear action. This makes them attractive as decorative original artwork."
