Dial: White enamel dial with black stylized Arabic numerals, railway-style minute track, small seconds subdial at 6 o'clock, and a red outer 13-24 scale for railway/24-hour time. Case & Caseback: Front/Exterior: Raised engraving of a historic steam locomotive with the crescent and star (emblem of Turkey) at the top and the winged monogram logo of the Turkish railways TCDD at the bottom. Inner cuvette (Parasol/Internal cover): In gold-toned metal signed ANCRE DE PRÉCISION with the medals won by the railways and the manufacturer at world exhibitions. Accessory: Original serpentine-link chain with a hook and integrated silvered steel ring. Case Diameter: 48 mm (classic standard size for station/railway pocket watches). Historical Anecdote: Between the 19th and 20th centuries, to avoid disastrous accidents and clashes between trains, stationmasters and engineers had to possess watches of absolute precision and easy readability. The founding of the Turkish Republic in 1923 by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk provided a strong impetus for modernizing the Turkish railways (TCDD). TCDD commissioned the historic Swiss manufacturer Perseo for high-precision special watches. This example bears the iconic relief of the steam locomotive and the gold medals on the inner cover, symbolizing robustness and legendary Swiss reliability approved for state railway services.
