The study of the form merges with that of the pose, always in balance. By shaping the raw material, clay, the artist gives life to a body and a pose crystallized in time. Yet, the female body exudes freedom. The artistic and polyhedral talent of Paolo Desario shines powerfully from his works, releasing a vitality almost tangible. His inspiration starts from an inner search that has ancient and primordial echoes, as suggested by the sinuous female torsos and the winged figures. He manages to combine reality and transcendence through ever-new insights, knowing how to forge an original synthesis between the individual predilection for the essentiality of forms and the more attentive contemporary plastic research. Sculptor and painter, Paolo Desario was born in Barletta, in Apulia, and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts of Bari in the sculpture school of Amerigo Tot. He lives and works in Barletta, has taught Plastic Disciplines at the State Artistic High School "Sacro Cuore" of Cerignola and at the artistic high school of Corato. He boasts an artistic career begun almost 50 years ago, dedicating himself to sculpture and painting, participating in numerous national and international solo and group exhibitions.
