Panel - Wood - Antique door leaf, 18th/19th century

Ancient door leaf in painted wood with a square panel and forged iron hardware – Cadore, Dolomites – 18th/19th century Ancient door leaf in conifer wood from Cadore (Veneto), handcrafted, preserved with the original varnish and period hardware. The front consists of three adjacent vertical boards, with a central rectangular panel framed by a molded frame. The bluish-gray patina is worn by time and use, revealing the underlying ochre-red layer. In the upper part a painted decoration of a star/rosette is still legible, typical of Alpine popular decoration. The hardware is hand-forged iron: - two S-shaped hinges with a baluster-shaped pin, fixed with forged nails; - shaped lock escutcheon, applied to the front; - through-lock bore. The back is raw natural-colored wood, with two crosspieces nailed to hold the boards together and visible nails with hammered heads. Dimensions: 130 × 51 × 3 cm Authentic conditions consistent with age, not restored to my knowledge. Noted: - wear and paint loss, especially on edges and in the center of the panel; - ancient termite holes, visible especially on the back and edges; - wear and small losses along the lower edge; - small gaps between the boards, due to natural wood movement; - oxidation and rust on the iron; - on the side edge there is a dark wood plug, probably added in a later period. The photos are part of the description: please view them carefully. Provenance: Cadore (BL), Dolomite area. Private property. Use: ideal as a decorative wall element, headboard, decorative panel or for upcycling in rustic and mountain furnishings. Shipping: packed with care,
