Pair of panels from the Garden of Eden, European School, 17th Century

Descriptio Rosewood carved in relief. Measures 42 x 33 cm. Pair of decorative panels depicting figures associated with the Garden of Eden, rendered with a stylized and ornamental aesthetic of great visual impact. The figures, with idealized anatomies and rounded volumes, are integrated among vegetal elements and stylized clouds, creating a symbolic and poetic atmosphere. The intense polishing of the wood and the natural chromatic richness of the rosewood accentuate the contrasts of light and lend sculptural depth to the surfaces. The composition reveals echoes of early Baroque ornamentation and European allegorical repertoires of the 17th century, where nature and the human figure merge in a refined decorative discourse. The work stands out for the quality of the relief and the graphic elegance of its sinuous lines. 42 x 33 cm. Lot in international warehouse (within the EU). Intra-EU shipment: no import duties apply within the EU. Export permit from the country of origin may be required.
