Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) - Le Goût du Bonheur (1970)...

THE STRUCTURE OF THE LOT: This lot offers a rare collecting opportunity: it brings together the reproduction of the title page of the album "Croquis Canson" (used by Picasso from April 25 to May 20, 1964) together with 3 splendid works that originated within that same specific notebook: The reclining nude of 25.4.64 The totemic figure of 4.5.64 (II) The iconic cubist portrait with the cat at the bottom of 8.5.64 (IV) Title page for the drawing album A perfect set of 4 graphics ready to be framed and displayed as a narrative sequence of Picasso's creative process. PRINTING QUALITY BY DIETZ OFFIZIN: Executed by the renowned Dietz Offizin print shop in Munich, this special patented photo-mechanical technique (free of typographic halftone) accurately reproduces the density, texture and tactile depth of pencil and ink lines by Picasso on fine Arches Velin paper. PROVENANCE AND ARCHIVAL DOCUMENTATION: The works come from portfolio no. 322 of 666 originally owned by Milanese publisher historian Dr. Gino Sansoni, purchased in 1970 by Dr. Alberto Machiavello (then director of the Milan gallery "L'Incontro"). Included in the lot: The buyer will be provided with a certified true copy of the historical letter dated February 10, 1976 signed by Dr. Gino Sansoni on letterhead of the "Casa Editrice Astoria", certifying authenticity, family provenance from the 1970s, and edition numbering. NB: The lot comprises only these 4 graphics, i.e., 3 figure lithographs + title page of the album (the case is excluded).
