Orson Welles - Jane Eyre - Original Japanese STB Tatekan...

Original Japanese theatrical re-release poster for Jane Eyre, Robert Stevenson’s 1943 adaptation of Charlotte Brontë’s novel, starring Joan Fontaine and Orson Welles. Issued for the 1967 Japanese re-release by Nippon Herald Films, this two-sheet tatekan features a large portrait of Joan Fontaine above atmospheric scenes from the film. Vivid pink Japanese title lettering and blue vertical text complement the softly coloured imagery. The two separate sheets form one continuous vertical composition. Both sheets are included. Details: • Film: Jane Eyre • Director: Robert Stevenson • Country of poster: Japan • Poster edition: 1967 theatrical re-release • Distributor: Nippon Herald Films • Format: STB / tatekan, two sheets • Unframed and not linen-backed Condition: Good overall vintage condition, with handling creases, edge wear, small edge tears and minor punctures. Age-related yellowing and spotting are visible, particularly on the reverse. There is a small handwritten annotation on the lower sheet and a discoloured area on the reverse that may relate to an old adhesive mark. The central division is the meeting point of the two separate sheets. Please examine all photographs, including the reverse and close-ups, for the exact condition. Shipping: The two sheets will be carefully protected and shipped together in a sturdy tube with tracking.
