Oriental fan and mirror. Signed G. Morcillo. Spanish School. 20th century.

Descriptio Oil on canvas. The work shows a refined composition with a lavishly decorated oriental-style fan, accompanied by a circular mirror that partially reflects its ornamentation. The fan, unfurled in the foreground, presents figurative scenes of Asian inspiration, meticulously executed in a range of vivid colors against a dark background, which enhances its ornamental richness. To the right, the mirror introduces a second visual perspective that lends depth and dynamism to the scene. The pictorial treatment is firm and detailed, with particular attention to the lacquered texture of the fan and the golden sheen of the mirror frame. The brushwork is precise and controlled, revealing a decorative intent that harmonizes with the costumbrista aesthetic and the taste for exotic objects so characteristic of certain artistic circles of the 20th century. Signed by the artist Javier Morcillo in the lower right. The composition is distinguished by its visual elegance, its symbolic capacity, and its interest in the dialogue between objects, perception, and reflection. 75 x 34 cm with frame; 87 x 48 cm without frame.
