Orfèvre Rudolphe Beunke - Scuola francese - Milk jug...

Elegant and refined service milk jug/creamer in solid silver, .950 fineness, by the renowned orphan and master goldsmith Rudolphe Beunke, active in Paris toward the end of the nineteenth century. The piece belongs to the prestigious French school of late 19th-century jewelry making. The object stands out for its refined bulbous yet elongated form, equipped with a shaped pouring spout and a hinged lid topped by an elegant apical knob. The bow-shaped handle is finely wrapped in antique interwoven vegetal fiber, a craftwork designed both to enhance aesthetics and to insulate from heat during service. On the surface of the silver are clearly visible the guarantees hallmarks of French silver at .950 and the maker’s mark of the goldsmith Rudolphe Beunke. The piece is in excellent overall conservation condition, showing only minimal and natural signs of time and use consistent with its era, with the handle weaving firmly attached and the lid hinge perfectly functioning.
