OMI - Ceiling lamp - Gilt brass - OMI

Remarkable vintage brass ceiling light with sculptural and futuristic design characteristic of the Space Age trend of the 1970s. This piece stands out for its geometric architecture, its square base and its four adjustable spots, equipped with perforated reflectors and mounted on articulated brass rods. The whole presents a play of volumes and golden reflections that is particularly decorative. The luminaire bears the OMI marking on its joints. This technical signature refers to the German company Otto Meinzer, based in Iserlohn, specialized in the manufacture of articulated mechanisms and precision brass components intended notably for the lighting industry. This detail is an interesting element for vintage design enthusiasts: the OMI joints have been used by different European lighting manufacturers. The manufacturer and designer of this specific model remain to be identified. Through its modernist aesthetics, its futuristic lines and the quality of its construction, this ceiling light evokes certain lighting creations of the era, notably those by Gaëtan Scolari, without attribution being confirmable at this stage. A piece of character, at the crossroads of industrial design and sculptural furniture, which will naturally find its place in a vintage, modernist or contemporary interior. Features: Manufacturer: not identified with certainty Marking: OMI on the joints Origin of the OMI component: Otto Meinzer, Iserlohn, Germany Era: 1970s, stylistic attribution Style: Space Age, modernist, futuristic Material: brass Lighting: four adjustable spots Base dimensions: 26.5 × 26.5 cm Height: 13 to 16 cm depending on deployment Weight: 5.5 kg Condition: perfect working order.
