Oil lamp (13) - Tin

For sale is a decorative, multi-piece lot of old pewter that is ideal for collectors of classic metalwork or as a nostalgic focal point in a country-house style. The collection comprises a selection of characterful, historic household items and vessels with an authentic, years-long patina. Stylistically, the designs reference pivotal periods of the late 18th and 19th centuries, from strict Classicism through the plainly bourgeois Biedermeier to the detail-loving Historicism. The centerpiece of the set is a rare tall oil lamp with a sturdy round base. It is complemented by a striking, historizing candlestick with a square base, a bulbous bowl with ornate side handles, an elegant pot with a hinged lid, and two additional well-proportioned beaker and vase designs in the Classical style. The offer is completed by a practical set of six small pewter coasters. A special detail for connoisseurs: the charming lot remains in its uncleaned original condition. Of the pieces included, only a single item bears a foundry mark on the bottom, which further underscores the untouched and rustic character of this ensemble.
