It is 1962 and two artisans, Formentello and Mian, decide to unite experience and vision to create a glassworks able to speak both the ancient language of the island and the new language of contemporary design. From that moment Formia becomes a workshop of ideas, a place where the millennial gesture of the master intertwines with curiosity for modern lines, unexpected colors, forms that challenge tradition without betraying it. Over the years the furnace grows, welcomes teams of masters and young apprentices, builds a rhythm of work that resembles a dance: glass gathered from the mouth of the furnace, the rod turning, the breath that expands the material, the pliers guiding it as if it were alive. Each piece is thus born, from a precise and silent choreography, where the hand knows what the eye has yet to see. Formia soon becomes a recognized name in the world of artistic glass, appreciated for its ability to transform Murano tradition into an elegant and contemporary language. Its works – stylized animals, abstract sculptures, vases with soft transparencies, decorative objects with a bold character – carry with them the light of the lagoon and the discipline of the craft. Today Formia remains a reference point: a furnace that has never stopped believing in the strength of artisanal gesture, in the beauty of blown glass, and in the possibility of renewing an ancient art without breaking its soul. Each creation tells a story of warmth, breath, and patience, and guards the echo of an island that for centuries turns fire into wonder."}{}%27s>
