OEM Factory Original 'Simulated Wire Wheel Covers'

Offered: a complete, original set of four high-quality, chromed wire-spoke hubcaps from the period 1978-1985. This concerns the sought-after, original heavy metal factory option from GM/Chevrolet with the specific type/mold number 8605 stamped on the inside. Unlike modern plastic imitations, this vintage set weighs no less than 1.75 kg per piece. The caps have an authentic traditional five-piece construction consisting of the heavy steel base plate with ventilation slots, a fine-mesh spoke ring with real metal spokes, the central hub cap, the mounting plate, and the classic Chevrolet logo emblem. Suitable for among others the following classics (15 inch steel wheels): Chevrolet: Caprice Classic, Impala, Monte Carlo, Malibu, El Camino (model years late 70s to mid-80s) General Motors: Various models from Buick, Oldsmobile and Pontiac from the same period. Universal: Extremely suitable for various American and European classics and youngtimers with 15-inch wheels for the desired, luxurious "classic spoke wheel" look. The chrome work is in very neat, shiny condition. The chrome shows very well and the fit of all loose parts is excellent. Authenticity: The type number (8605) is perfectly legible on three back plates (on the fourth back plate it is less visible due to superficial rust). OEM GM 8605 1 mounting screw (rightmost in the 1st photo) has in the past been replaced by a non-original piece (perfectly functional). The rightmost black plastic wheel disc (logo emblem + hub cap) is optically somewhat less neat/weathered, which contributes to a beautiful original patina.. A beautiful and increasingly rare set for the enthusiast of American cruisers or to make a classic completely original. Carefully packed, registered and shipped with TT code. Will just stay under 10 kg.
