The face emerges from the dark background with a silent and intense presence: it does not seek to impose itself through gesture, but through an almost absolute frontality, capable of establishing a direct relationship with the viewer. The title recalls Athena, a figure from Greek mythology linked to wisdom, intelligence and strategy. Not a impulsive force, but a conscious one. It is precisely this quality that runs through the painting: a vigilant, steady and almost impenetrable gaze, in which beauty, control and a subtle inner tension coexist. The work is achieved with hyperrealistic painting, through a careful study of anatomical details, of light and of the chromatic variations of the flesh tone. The process proceeds in thin layers and successive oil glazes, using very fine brushes in the more delicate areas, particularly in the eyes, eyebrows, lips and hair. The layering of glazes allows for depth and transparency, avoiding a flat rendering of the skin and gradually bringing out the warm and cool variations of the face. Particular attention is given to the eyes, central element of the composition and the point of greatest visual tension in the work. The painting is finished with a final protective varnish, intended to protect the painted surface over time and to enhance the depth of the colors. Original, unique work, entirely handmade. The work is offered without a frame. If the winning bid significantly exceeds the reserve price, the artist may provide a simple frame as a gift, chosen in harmony with the piece. Otherwise, the painting will be shipped unframed, carefully rolled and protected inside a rigid tube. Shipping will be carried out with professional and careful packaging, using, whenever possible, recycled materials and cardboard, in respect of the artwork and with particular attention to its protection during transport.
